Hi, this is my problem, I created an app on FT Administration Console, in fact, one for network and one for local, I changed the connection to local on Log On FT, but, when I try to define the data points on Step 3 of configuration checklist, only shows me the network app, i select the app, after click OK, the FTTM freezes, anything else happens, I don´t know what am I doing wrong.

Hi All, I need to add an 1756-IF8 to my controlnet on a L61 PLC. I have already added the device to RSLogix 5000 and inhibited it for the moment. I have RSNetWorx for Controlnet version 11 as it is an older project. What do i need to do to schedule this device on controlnet? I've been told you need to be online with RSNetWorx and then do an upload, what else do you need to do to schedule this device. Any help greatly appreciated.

I have an applclation in which we want to replace an old rotational servo for a linear one. The application, of course, is suitable for such a replacement.
I have done some motion projects using rotational servos but this time I am very confused about the different kind of linear servos (trhusters, linear stages, cylinders, linear motors, etc.) so I am asking you some guidence about where to utilize each one of them as well as its advantages and disadvantages.
An explanation or a link to a source of information will be appreciated.

I used panelview 600 with DH485and try to upload and download data from panel and I have 2 ways to up/download it.
1. use memory card after I get back up data form panel (no error shown on panel view). But when I insert to my card reader and connect to my notebook. My notebook can not see the drive and always ask for formatting. In this case How can I make it to see the drive? I used windows 7 and also VMware for windows XP.
2. I also try using 2711-NC13 cable but my notebook doesn't have RS232 direct port. Could u suggest me there're converter or some tools to use with usb port?

Hello All,
We have a production line that uses an L72S processor with a host of Ethernet / IP components. There are (3) on-machine LAN's derived from (3) individual Ethernet Modules.
One of these LAN's is for drive communications. There are (36) Powerflex 70 EC drives and (10) 2904 Kinetix Servo drives on this network. [160 total connections]
Occasionally, and becoming more frequent, we're having 4 of the axis fault on: Control Sync Fault and Module Connection Timeout Fault.
Both faults are time stamped at the same time. The faults are on 4 out of the 10 axis in the motion group.
The Powerflex Drives have an RPI of 20 ms. The motion group has a course update of 6.0 ms... I have reset all diagnostic counters in RS Linx... Now we wait again...
Has anyone had similar issues? I read a KB article and found a similar forum reply on a different board that stated to upgrade the Kinetix to FW > 2.08... Currently, we're at 2.16...

Hi, I,m new to this PLC. I,m trying to set up 4-20ma signal on this controller but having no luck. I,m reading a level off a unit that sends out a 4- 20ma signal and i,m terminating in straight into my PLC but it doesn,t read at all on my ladder logic. I have set up 4-20 on analog properties . I have terminated it into 0in - and Iin - .Do i have to have 24V supply on CJC+? or am i missing something, any help??
I'm currently doing a Safety Program for a current project. However something is arising that I am just curious about. On an overall safety check rung which I have made RC60_Safety_Ok a controller safety global tag, every few seconds the tag seems to go high then low, a kind of fast flashing every 40/60 seconds. (See Safety rung Attachment). When I branch all inputs it keeps happening to the output RC60_Safety_Ok. That output is only wrttien to that rung and nowhere else.
I are putting it down to the periodic safetytask configuration. (See SafetyTask Config Attachment)
Obviously, this is causing me issues with the safety_ok losing signal in any routines that requires this tag. Has anybody any ideas why RC60_Safety_Ok keeps losing its signal?

I am really confused whether is there anyway to make it in an optional way, or do I have to create the screens exactly again for Spanish as well. Please help me in this guys. I have to set up a communication (read & write) between a Controllogix MVI56E-MNET module and a SLC MVI46-MNET module.
Since in the Command List, we have to specify the Slave Node address, I don't know how to setup the Modbus node address for these modules.
It would be OK if we try to talk to other Modbus devices with these MNET modules, but how do we do when we try to talk between them.
Anyone have this experience, please help.

I am using a 1769-ASCII card to talk to a Mass Flow Controller, the problem is that I need to send it a string of HEX characters. Initially I was sending a sting of '0221AD' and I found that the device was not responding. Then i sent a string of '$02$21$AD' and I got the response i was looking for.
There is one packet of data that i need to calculate so I cant manually add the dollar sign to the string, I have tried everything to add a concatenate $ to a string of AD to get $AD dynamically and I cant find anything that works. To get the hex, i am summing decimal values and them converting it to hex. The issue is that the $ is reserved char. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions to get me over this hurdle?

I have a version 5.01 SDN card and would like to update it to version 6.02 but cannot find the firmware upgrade files on Rockwell's site. Does anyone have a copy that they can provide or direct me to where I can find it?
Also, is it possible to update the firmware on this card using the pass through devicenet driver as this card is in a chassis with a SLC5/05 CPU which has an ethernet port.

Stuck with OLE objects...I have taken a OLE object new file in the SCADA screen but I am unable to insert or link a tag to it. Also How to give link to this file, so that I could get or generate an excel file at desired path.
The aim is I have to create report as shown in the excel worksheet attached with this post . This is old worksheet I found but when I open it it is saying it is having link from rsview 32...as it was the old system.I have to create same for FT view SE tags data logging.
Does I need to create ODBC DATABASE for it?

I need to save 2 tags (String and DINT) in a FIFO of 10 elements.
When a programmed condition is true, this 2 tags should enter to the FIFO and the last element should go out (garbage). So, just 10 element should be in the FIFO.
I have done some tries with FFL and FFU instructions but without sucess.
Also, I have try to save just a tag (DINT), but without sucess. I have could save the values in the FIFO, but I am not sure how to displace the elements.

All of the documentation for the UID/UIE set of instructions seem to indicate that they need to exist on a rung alone, is this the case? I would like to conditionally execute the UID and UIE instructions based on logic conditions. RSLogix 5000 allows me to add the instructions in this manner, but I am unsure if it works properly, or how to exactly test if they do work when this is done.
One help manual states that the UID boosts the priority of the current task and the UIE restores the priority, but using a GSV shows no difference between the priority values for the task when logged inside or outside the pair whether the pair is inside conditional statements or on separate rungs.
Does anyone know if they can be conditionally executed, or at least have an idea of how to test this?
